Dr. Woods earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Florida in 2001. Following graduation, he completed a rotating small animal internship at Colorado State University (CSU), where he was then selected for a prestigious three-year residency in small animal internal medicine. During his residency, Dr. Woods earned a Master’s in Clinical Sciences and conducted original research on feline infectious diseases, which was published and presented at the annual ACVIM Forum.
In 2005, Dr. Woods achieved board certification in small animal internal medicine and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM).
Over the years, Dr. Woods has worked in prominent specialty veterinary hospitals across Southern California, Florida, and North Carolina. In 2013, he decided to follow his passion and establish Savannah Veterinary Internal Medicine.
Dr. Woods has over 20 years of experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of internal medicine conditions. His special interests include gastrointestinal diseases, gastrointestinal endoscopy, esophageal disorders, enteral feeding devices, rhinoscopy in the diagnosis of nasal diseases, immune-mediated diseases, and vector-borne infectious diseases. He also has extensive clinical experience in diagnostic endoscopy and ultrasound imaging.
Dr. Woods is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM), and he continues to advance his knowledge in the field to provide the highest level of care for his patients.
