Treatments
Pet Internal Medicine Treatments in Savannah, GA
Among the leading-edge treatments we offer are:
- Specialized therapy to suppress an inappropriate immune response in immune-mediated diseases (when the immune system is triggered to mistakenly attack your pet’s own cells)
- Blood transfusions for anemia
- Fresh-frozen plasma transfusions for heat stroke, poisoning, bleeding disorders, and snake bites
- Snake antivenin (antivenom) for snake bite treatment
Importantly, our pharmacy is well-stocked with a variety of intravenous and oral medications for immediate use by our patients. Plus, through our close relationships with distributors, local and national compounding pharmacies and even local human hospital pharmacies, we have fast access to less-frequently used medications should your pet need them.
We also maintain a blood bank in our hospital so we can provide 24/7 access to canine and feline blood products.
What to expect
The treatments we provide are administered on an outpatient basis. We find that pets and their parents are happier and less stressed the sooner they can be at home.
While your pet is in our hospital, rest assured that they are never alone. We are fully staffed by a team of experienced registered veterinary technicians, led by veterinary specialists, who carefully monitor each pet throughout their stay.
A member of our staff will call you once treatment has been completed or if there is ever a change in your pet’s condition while in our hospital. In addition, you may call us at any time for updates or if you have any questions.
Know that your pet is in good, caring, and compassionate hands at Savannah Veterinary Internal Medicine.
