Dr. Holly Richmond
Holly Richmond, DVM, MPH, Diplomate ACVPM
Dr. Richmond, originally from Portland, Oregon, spent nine years in Ft. Collins, CO, while obtaining an undergraduate degree in equine sciences, and then a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2007.
Dr. Richmond takes great pride in and pays special attention to all of our patients’ — and their human family’s — needs. She manages our hospital, and also brings medical and technical skills to the practice, oftentimes triaging emergencies and caring for our hospitalized patients.
Dr. Richmond has a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Georgia Southern University in epidemiology, and recently passed her board exam to become a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (ACVPM). Dr. Richmond — and the ACVPM — work on population health in animals from a One Health standpoint. One Health (the interaction of human, animal and environmental health) focuses on issues which affect both animals and people such as zoonotic diseases which pass between our species, antimicrobial resistance, and management and movement of people and animals in disasters. Dr. Richmond has published multiple papers on One Health and COVID-19 (HL Richmond Publications).
In her spare time, Dr. Richmond enjoys all things outdoors, travel (pre-COVID-19), and spending time with her 2 dogs, Bo and Lucy, and her horse Fergus. Don’t hesitate to call Dr. Richmond anytime if you have questions or need any assistance.
